MY MINIMALIST NATURAL BODY CARE ROUTINE
Hi there, my name is Kristen. I’m the co-founder of Hippy Pits and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been a Label Reader. I care a lot about ingredients. Whether it’s in my food or my body care products.
I’ve noticed a pattern over the years:
a company creates a body care product I love, then they grow into a huge corporation, and their ingredients change... for the worst. When I started Hippy Pits, I vowed to use only the best ingredients, and never compromise.
This brings me to my bodycare routine...
THE DEODORANT ( I use daily )
This was the first product I’ve ever developed and it’s helped thousands of people find an alternative deodorant that is harmless on their body and that works. It works really well. One of our early customers, who’s a yoga teacher, says that it lasts all day even after she teaches a hot yoga class in the morning.
It comes in 3 scents: lavender/jasmine, tea tree/eucalyptus and scentless. Currently it’s in a jar and is easily applied by hand. We’re working on developing a stick form for next year.
THE SHAMPOO / CONDITIONER
( I use 2-3 times a week )
Hair care is something I’ve struggled with for a long time. I’ve never been able to find a natural conditioner that could help me comb the knots out of my hair. Conditioner was the only synthetic product I had that worked. Until recently.
Our Flower Crown hair care line is something I’m really proud of. The shampoos have unbelievable ingredients like calendula, jojoba oil, chamomile, neem, nettle extract and my favourite rosehip seed oil. They do an amazing job of cleaning my hair. The conditioners have quite similar botanical ingredients, and leave my hair softer than any other natural hair care I’ve ever tried.

THE TOOTHPASTE ( I use 2-3 times daily )
Finding a good natural toothpaste was also a challenge for me. I tried several that had quite an awful taste. Our Tooth Fairy formula, turned out to be ‘just right’. It has amazing ingredients like matcha and leaves my teeth feeling smooth and clean.
I use a tiny amount each morning and night. It feels good knowing that the product I put into my mouth, so often, is gentle yet effective. Did I mention it’s great for all ages? Kids all the way to cute grandparents.
